Amnesty International: From Human Rights To Lies

The recent Amnesty International campaign to outlaw business with Jews living in Judea and Samaria is based on lies and is discriminatory. It is a continuation of the antisemitism that was seen in the infamous UN Durbin Conference of 2001 and the subsequent meetings in 2009 and 2011.

Democratic nations boycotted those events because of the clear antisemitism both in the classic tropes about Jews – The Protocols of the Elders of Zion was distributed, for example – and the newest form of the oldest hatred – demonisation and delegitimisation of Israel and holding the Jewish nation to a higher standard than any other country.

In recent years, Amnesty International has defended terrorists, whitewashed abuses of power at the United Nations Human Rights Council, and has done little to no campaigning on the rising number of violent antisemitic incidents around the world. They have moved away from human rights and Israel is now their number one target.

Fair-minded people and leaders must also stand firm against the lies of Amnesty International in this latest campaign. Instead of the tired excuse of blaming “the occupation”, leaders and thinkers need to listen to the people and recognise that it takes two willing parties to come together and discuss a future together, in order to find solutions. Sadly, Amnesty is advocating for division rather than unity.
