Bauhaus to Tel Aviv from Perry Trotter on Vimeo.

We had the pleasure of hosting via Zoom a fascinating lecture by Michal Minsky, a self-described historical photography researcher and vintage and nostalgia addict.

Michal walked us through the story of Tel Aviv’s development from a small garden suburb of Jaffa to the main metropolis of Israel. Her photographic essay took us from the Eclectic Style buildings of the 1920s and the modern International Style (Bauhaus) buildings of the 1930s and 1940s and tackled questions, why did the German Bauhaus schools influence so much local construction and why did the simple architecture suit Tel Aviv so well?

Enjoy!
