NZ-Israel business ties strengthened and BNZ customers benefit

In November 2018, Jonathan “Jon” Medved, OurCrowd CEO, talked with the Israel Institute of New Zealand about the opportunities for investing in business between New Zealand and Israel.

Only one year later, in December 2019, OurCrowd joined with Kiwi-run Finistere and Callaghan Innovation to create a new ag-tech and food-tech startup incubator in New Zealand, called Sprout.

Now there is another announcement of a strengthening business bond between New Zealand and Israel. OurCrowd has partnered exclusively with BNZ to allow Kiwis to access the OurCrowd platform and Australasian team.

The OurCrowd office in Australia was established in 2014 and the team said they have seen New Zealand as a strategically important market. Dan Bennett, OurCrowd Managing Partner of Australia, told the Israel Institute of New Zealand

“Since 2017, OurCrowd has had a deep partnership with National Australia Bank and was excited to develop a similar partnership with BNZ, which is part of the broader NAB Group.

New Zealand has a thriving technology and venture capital ecosystem that OurCrowd was excited to complement with access to global technology investment opportunities through BNZ.

BNZ and the NAB Group are constantly looking for new ways to broaden their offering to provide their clients with new opportunities and differentiated serviceā€¦

We are excited to bring our Israeli, US and global technology opportunities to the broader NZ market and further democratise the venture capital asset class to a larger group of investors.”Dan Bennett
