Qatar, the “Mediator” Mirage

Here’s the irony: Qatar bankrolls Hamas, shelters its leadership, and keeps the terror machine running. And yet somehow, in the magical world of international PR, it’s allowed to pretend it’s a neutral mediator.

Let’s get real. If any country has leverage over Hamas, it’s Qatar. Doha could demand the release of hostages, cut the cash flow, or kick the leadership out. But it hasn’t. Not once.

Instead, Qatar now has the gall to call on Israel not to “stall peace talks” over the remains of two hostages — hostages that Hamas was supposed to have returned weeks ago. Hostages whose deaths Hamas hid. Hostages whose return to Israel Doha could have enforced.

Israel is not stalling. Israel is insisting that agreements be honoured. And yet Qatar, the enabler, lectures the victim about “compromise.”

Moreover, Qatar runs Al Jazeera (and affiliated channels like AJ+), which promotes its image worldwide under a veneer of respectability. Al Jazeera is the only 24/7 news channel freely available on New Zealand televisions, yet most people are unaware that it is a mouthpiece for a terror-supporting, theocratic regime.

Here’s the bottom line: Qatar is not a mediator. It’s a patron of terror pretending to be indispensable to diplomacy. And the world keeps buying the act.

Time to call it what it is.
