The New Conservative party has put out a press release<\/a> urging the New Zealand government to “do more to support Israel”.<\/p>\n

The press release and associated commitments<\/a> refer to a number of incidents that have had a damaging effect on the relationship between Israel and New Zealand, and puts forward concrete steps to strengthen ties and promote peace.<\/p>\n

The statements have been welcomed by the Israel Institute of New Zealand<\/a>. Below, we consider each of the commitments put forward and explain why they are positive gestures.<\/p>\n
